Therapy for Athletes

As a life long athlete, I get what it means to navigate the ups and downs of this world.

I grew up running cross country and track where I found a sense of freedom, fulfillment, and community along side immense stress, anxiety, and self doubt. I longed for support that went beyond performance that would get what I was going through on a deep level but found these resources to be few and far between.

After college I left competitive running behind to play in the wildnerness however I could - rock climbing, backpacking, trail running, and working as a whitewater raft guide and wilderness therapy guide. I loved this wild life. But then, I tore my ACL and fell mysterious ill and slowly but surely lost all of the athleticism I took for granted my whole life. In the process I lost more than fitness, I lost my sense of self, my belief in my capabilities, and my way of life that felt integral to who I was. Navigating this loss was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but putting the hard work - mentally, emotionally, and physically - to return to myself is one of the most rewarding things I’ve done.

Wherever you are in your journey as an athlete, I
