THERAPY FOR ANXIETY AND TRAUMA
Life is not easy.
We don’t have a choice over the hand of cards we are dealt. We don’t get to choose who our parent’s are and what they are capable of. We don’t get to choose where we grew up, how the important people in our lives treated us, and what we were exposed to. And, sometimes horrible things just happen that leave a lasting imprint on who we are.
And sometimes we are just anxious and we really don’t know why.
Regardless of its cause, trauma and anxiety have a huge impact on our day to day lives. We can feel constantly on edge or plagued by physical symptoms. We can have trouble trusting ourselves and the people we love. And we can feel stuck just trying to cope.
Therapy can help you make sense of this often complicated mess. It can help you learn to recognize what is making you anxious and help you process and let go of the past. It can help you cope with and find resilience through the inevitable ups and downs of life. And it can help you build a life that actually feels like living, rather than just getting by.
We can help you craft a life from a place of hope rather than fear.

Struggling in their relationships
Feeling like something is wrong with them
Having trouble trusting themselves and the important people in their lives

Therapy with me is kind, understanding, and collaborative.
Sessions are a blend of depth and practicality - helping you understand the roots of your struggles while also providing tools for moving forward. All along the way, I provide education on neuroscience, physiology, emotions, identity, trauma, and attachment. I share what I am noticing and wondering. We take the work seriously while also making room for levity and laughter (for example, pictures of cats :).
